Year of Her:Houston Non-Profit Organization Launches Houston Harvey Relief Project
Houston, TX September 1, 2017 - Year of Her launched its efforts to provide Houston and overlooked surrounding areas, with relief, as a result of the devastation brought by Hurricane Harvey.
Year of Her partnered with Inspiration Church (http://yourinspirationnow.com) to provide a great deal of support to Dickinson, Texas, by way of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Through this partnership, the community has received daily lunches and dinners, as well as thousands of donations in the form of clothing, toiletries, baby diapers, formula, play pins and car seats, as well as household items (e.g. cleaning supplies and bedding) and pet supplies. This partnership supported the creation of a free shopping store for Dickinson area residents.
Year of Her will continue to focus on establishing beneficial partnerships, in its efforts to provide continued financial support and donations to the underserved communities in and surrounding Houston.

HISTORY OF YEAR OF HER
Founded in 2016, Year of Her is an organization whose platforms target women of all ages, ethnic groups and social classes. Year of Her is an organization that seeks to empower, educate, restore and provide networking opportunities to women in the community.
Year of Her currently has four board members who have at one point personally needed support in the form of the platforms and initiatives addressed by Year of Her, Chanteau Garrett, Founder and Director of Brand Management, Shelley Harvey, Director of Business Development, Latasia Turner, Director of Operations and Audreyanna Garrett, Director of Communications.
